Solution: Issues re-numbered sequentially by scanners and note made of discrepancies.


Section discrepancies

• indicates two sections but Section B is not identified; pagination is continuous through entire issue
Solution: if pagination is continuous and there is no indication of a second section, use continuous pagination as if it were one issue.


Pagination and page duplication issues
newmarket_era_and_express_1949_09_15_37
• has 2 front pages for the same issue. The pages were identical except for the main headline.
Solution: scan in both pages and use continuous pagination; only OCR and index one of the pages.


Supplemental pages
newmarket_era_and_express_1949_12_22_051_01
• has two supplemental pages between pages 2 & 3
Solution: paginate these pages as “a” and “b” (and by extension “c” etc.) and derive the numbering from the immediately preceding page. Example for this issue:
